Welcome to Rugby in the Arabian Gulf. Until December 31st 2010 this region is made up the countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. After that date the countries will be represented individually in line with an I.R.B. directive.
There is a well established league structure in both men’s and women’s club rugby and a strong development programme introducing the sport to the Arabic residents with several new teams having been formed recently
The Arabian Gulf hosted the Rugby World Cup Sevens in 2009 and Dubai is the venue for the first stop on the I.R.B. Sevens circuit each year.

Hiya, i played for the Eagles in 83/84, with Kempy,Tony Lund,Steve Nee,Al ? captain, if i remember rightly.Had some great times in the DHL compound and tournaments around the country.I am still heavily involved in the great game, currently in my 9th season as club president of Manurewa Rugby in NZ,and still playing golden oldies rugby. If anybody out there is coming over for the World Cup in 2011, look me up for some good old fashioned rugby hospitality.
